Health Education and Wellness Center
Located at 4201 Tudor Centre Drive on the second floor, the Health Education and Wellness Center is staffed by health educators, exercise specialists and technicians, program coordinators, administrative support staff and management. Together they partner with our customers, their family and primary health care providers to provide health education and services that are focused on wellness, exercise, prevention and treatment. Health Education also partners with other Southcentral Foundation departments and many outside organizations to provide a variety of educational programs, events and services for our customers. These educational programs and services include group classes, gatherings, workshops, special events, health fairs, individualized counseling and educational demonstrations. Health Education also operates a Wellness Center, open Monday through Friday from 6:15am to 6:30pm for customers and employees, complete with state of the art exercise equipment such as:
- Treadmills
- Elliptical machines
- Free weights
- Stationary bikes
- Strength training equipment
- Nu-Step machines for persons with limited mobility
Customers and employees must first meet with one of the Wellness Center's Exercise Specialists before utilizing the workout equipment. Appointments can be made by calling Health Education at 907-729-2689.
A wide variety of exercise and activity classes are also offered throughout the week at the Wellness Center's exercise studio. These classes include Pilates, Drumming for Life, Tai-Chi, Yoga, Strength Training, Functional Balance and Cardio Combo classes.
